Submit new quote

Thank you for taking the time to post. Is this the first time you are submitting a quote? Please have a look at the guidelines.

Also, please don’t spam. Seriously, you’re just wasting your time. We keep things old school and all posts are reviewed by our moderators before publishing.

We currently accept quotes from either public figures which have have an English Wikipedia page., or "famous" Twitter and Reddit users. If you want to submit your own tweet or one posted by someone else, please use our Twitter bot to do so. If Reddit is your site of choice, you can use our Reddit bot in a similar way.

Please post the relevant quote without quotation marks and limit the length to 280 characters (do not use this section for a complete article, only the relevant quote).

Omitting part of the quote, as long as the original meaning of the quote is unchanged, can be done by using ellipses, e.g. [...].

Relevant details about the source can be provided in parentheses at the end, e.g. (during the inaugural address).

Post the source for the quote, preferably the original source. While an article from a reputable news source is preferred (because it is easier to verify and archive), we also accept videos from an interview or press conference.

We need to know the date on which the statement was made (so that we know the historical context) and the due date — the earliest date when this prediction can be assessed (e.g. predictions for 2020 will have a due date of January 1st, 2021). It is fine to use approximate dates, as long as you don't get too carried away.

Of course, you've read them before agreeing to them, right? It’s a short read, give it a try.
